To tape from VCR tape to another VCR tape (must have 2 VCR's):
We will assume the first VCR is already connected to your TV correctly and the second VCR is one that is not connected to your system yet.
-
Obtain AV cables (the red, white, and yellow connections) that come standard with VCRs
-
Find the AV "out" ports on the second VCR (you will only need the yellow connections to copy video). Connect the yellow cable into the "out" port.
-
Find the AV "in" port on the first VCR. These are often in the front on the VCR, but can be found in the back. Plug in the yellow connection.
-
Turn the channel of first VCR to "AUX" or "INPUT". This is usually the first "channel" below 2. Your VCR may have multiple "in" connections, so you may see "AUX1", "INPUT1" or something similar.
-
Place a blank tape into the first VCR. Make sure you have about 10 seconds of blank space before you begin recording.
-
Put the tape you want to record FROM into the second VCR and search for your favorite highlight. Once you find the highlight, press pause.
-
Start recording using the first VCR (wait a second or two), then click play on the second VCR. Once the play is completed, press stop on the first VCR then press stop on the second VCR.
-
Press play on the first VCR for about 10 seconds to advance the tape.
-
Repeat steps 6 - 8 until you have your 10 play highlight film.
You can create your skills video in a similar fashion. Have someone film your skills and if needed, splice it together using the above method. Just remember, skills video should be about 4 - 12 minutes.
